CCS participates in ZENITH inception workshop

The Competence Center of Sustainability: Finance, Law, Sciences, and the Humanities (CCS) participated in the inception workshop of ZENITH – the Zurich Engagement Network for Interdisciplinary and Transformative Human Development at the University of Zurich, and various CCS members were present and shared their perspective.

Initiated by Christian Ydesen and Patrick Montjouridès, the workshop brought together researchers and representatives from across the University of Zurich to explore how academic expertise can contribute to global development agendas and the emerging post-2030 framework. The exchange also included perspectives from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Swiss Commission for UNESCO.

The discussions highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and of connecting academic research with policy and practice – priorities that closely align with the CCS's mission. The workshop provided an opportunity to explore potential synergies between existing research platforms and networks and to strengthen connections between sustainability research, international cooperation, and policy engagement.

The CCS looks forward to continuing the dialogue and contributing to future collaborative initiatives emerging from the ZENITH network.
